Marijuana, the flower of female cannabis plant, has been cultivated since ancient times. Namely, archeologists from Central Asia discovered a 2-pound cannabis in a grave from 2,700 years ago.
The first ban on the therapeutic and recreational use of cannabis was in 1937 with the Marijuana Tax Act. Afterwards, the compounds of the plant known as cannabinoids were classified was Schedule I substance under the Act of Controlled Substances from the 70s. Unfortunately, this meant that the plant was considered as harmful as heroin and that it has a high potential for abuse.
The Therapeutic Properties of Cannabis
With the aim to support the criminalization of cannabis, federal lawmakers continue classifying it as a drug. However, this is not backed up by scientific evidence. In fact, there are more than 20,000 studies and reviews on the benefits of cannabis and its compounds. Nowadays, marijuana is legal for medical use in 20 states.
Even though the therapeutic use of marijuana is still debatable, it should not be overlooked because there is an abundance of scientific data showing its medicinal characteristics. According to research, among other things, cannabis can moderate autoimmune illnesses like rheumatoid arthritis, IBS, Alzheimer’s, and multiple sclerosis.
Marijuana and Coconut Oil
Cannabis capsules infused with coconut oil can be a great alternative to smoking. Coconut oil will ease the entry of cannabis in the liver. This is because coconut oil is rich in fatty acids that act as binding agents. Moreover, coconut oil has its own medicinal power. It has antibacterial, antiviral, and antiprotozoal properties and it is so powerful that it can kill lipid-coated viruses like HIV, herpes, measles, etc.
Although the percentage of people who still doubt the medicinal power of marijuana is pretty high, Stan and Barb Rutner, a couple who was affected by cancer and survived, learned from their experience and swear by cannabis.
Namely, Barb was diagnosed with cancer twice whereas Stan had non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma 20 years ago. After the first treatment, the cancer was gone; however, it recurred in 2011. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with lung cancer that spread to the brain. He underwent chemo and radiation and his family decided to find some alternative methods that would help him. When they learned about cannabis, they decided to give it a go.
Stan took the capsule with cannabis and marijuana for 14 days and no longer needed an oxygen tank. Additionally, his quality of sleep improved and he gained weight. In few months, the tests showed that the cancer was completely gone.
